Each of us sometimes feels the need to change something in our lives. This change can concern big and important things, as well as small but noticeable ones. Sometimes a small thing is enough to feel better in your own interior - changing the decoration, rearranging books on the shelves or transforming the bedroom. And speaking of transformation, let's focus today on how you can change the interior in which you sleep to feel better and cozier.
Colors that bring relief
Bright pink, bright green or fiery red are colors that we should avoid when arranging a bedroom. Intense and bright colors have a stimulating effect, making it difficult to relax . It is worth starting a bedroom makeover by changing the color of the walls, and we can do the painting or wallpapering ourselves in one weekend. My favorite trend is to combine a pastel color with a stronger shade, for example:
-
light gray and graphite
-
light beige and sage green
-
white and navy blue
If your bedroom is rectangular, place darker color on the shorter wall – this way you will balance the proportions of the interior. It may also be a good idea patterned wallpaper on one of the walls (preferably at the head of the bed), for example with a fashionable plant motif, Scandinavian birches or a geometric print in a retro style. When choosing colors for the bedroom, it is worth being guided primarily by your own taste and choosing your favorite combinations that will bring us joy and relief . However, I love simplicity and focus on bright interiors, and I introduce any decorations in accessories. This is the most universal way to quickly change a bedroom. The color of the walls remains the same, and I play with accessories: a new pillow in a seasonal color accent that I happen to like, a new picture above the bed, or a blanket matched to the season. I love such small metamorphoses that make something happen all the time, and every now and then I have the impression of being the happy owner of a "new interior"...
Cut yourself off from the world
The bedroom should be a kingdom of peace , not a reservoir for blue light emitted by smartphones, tablets, laptops or televisions. Blue light makes it harder to fall asleep because our brain interprets it as daylight. Bedroom makeover It does not have to be connected only with buying new things, but it can also be changing harmful habits that negatively affect our sleep.
Also, make sure to limit the amount of light coming into your bedroom from outside. If there is a streetlight outside your window or you have trouble falling asleep during a full moon, invest in external blinds or blackout curtains . Thick curtains are very popular these days, so you can easily find window treatments in a color that matches your bedroom decor. Curtains are also a great way to introduce color accent to the interior. While the intense color may be a bit overwhelming for the bedroom walls, it works well on the curtains.
Bedding and bedspreads
There is no more important piece of furniture in a bedroom than a bed. The right size and a comfortable mattress are only half the battle. If you want to have a bed like from a catalogue , take care of textiles that are pleasant to the skin and look attractive.
Let's start with what decorates, warms and envelops, that is knitted bedding . Cotton bedding works well at any time of the year, as it allows the skin to breathe and is as pleasant as a favorite T-shirt. Nice bedding does not have to be hidden under a bedspread, as it is a decoration in itself. However, if you prefer the "rich" version, you can combine bedding with a bedspread, creating an interesting color composition. Note that we design moyha knitted bedding so that it does not overwhelm the interior with its design, but complements its character. Our subdued bedding colors mean that the bed does not have to be carefully hidden under a bedspread. Take a look at our suggestions, bedding can beautifully complement the styling of the bed!
Bedspread for bedroom It is primarily decorative, but can also be used as a bed cover, blanket or additional duvet. In the collection moyha you will find knitted throws (wool and cotton) and boiled wool. We try to base the colors on subdued shades of gray and beige, but in our offer you can also find more vivid color accents such as: navy blue, sage, cinnamon or blue. It is worth remembering that bedspreads They emphasize the coziness of the interior, adding warmth, elegance and class. It is therefore worth choosing them always in combination with other accessories such as bedding or decorative pillows, so that together they can create a coherent set.
How to choose a bedspread to suit your bed size?
For mattresses 180x200 cm and larger we recommend the largest ones bedspreads from 240 cm wide, (including knitted bedspreads 220x250 cm, wool classics 260x240 cm, or lazy mornings 240 cm wide), while in the case of mattresses 160x200 cm and smaller, the best choice will be bedspreads slightly narrower, about 220 cm wide. It is worth noting that you can arrange our bedspreads lengthwise or widthwise, adjusting their arrangement to your bed and, above all, to your own preferences. In any case, our bedspreads are designed to make it possible for you.
Decorative pillows for the bedroom
The cherry on top of the cake when it comes to a bedroom makeover is decorative pillows that complete the composition and provide comfort. Navy, ash, blue, straw, anthracite, cinnamon, sage, gray and beige pillows moyha can be combined with bedspreads in the same colors, introducing peace and harmony into the interior. Moyha decorative pillows are made of soft wool or knitwear and decorated with spectacular accessories such as leather straps, wooden buttons or woolen pompoms. Larger pillows are perfect for reading or Sunday breakfast in bed, while smaller ones will beautifully decorate the bedroom interior. If you are not sure what goes best together, go to the COLLECTIONS tab in the top menu of our store, and you will find our textiles grouped in matching sets.
So, are you ready for a metamorphosis? Don't be afraid of changes for the better! It will bring you a lot of joy and improve the quality of your life, starting with the quality of your sleep :-)
Take care of yourself!
